Member Statement of Acknowledgement and Commitment
This statement is to acknowledge that I have received a copy of Hillview Baptist Church’s governing documents (Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws). Included in these documents are, at the minimum, the following:
Mission Statement
Purpose Statement
Doctrinal Statement
Membership Covenant
Conducting of Church Affairs
Hillview Baptist church’s governing documents were thoroughly explained in the Membership classes for which I attended.
I believe these documents to be an accurate summary of what Scripture teaches, and I wholeheartedly and without reservation endorse them. I affirm my commitment to Jesus Christ, and I promise to nurture my relationship with God through prayer, worship, fellowship and Bible study.
I commit myself to this local body of believers and pledge my cooperation to the elders and to those God has called into positions of leadership. I will refrain from advocating doctrines or practices that might cause dissention within the body. If a personal difference or concern does arise, I promise to follow the biblical pattern of reconciliation as found in Matthew 18. I further understand that it is the elder’s scriptural responsibility to confront those who are teaching what they should not teach or who are continuing to act in a pattern of behavior contrary to Biblical truth.
Further, I commit my stewardship of time, spiritual gift(s), talents and abilities, tithes and financial resources ot God to use for His glory in the building up of this Church.
With the Lord’s grace and enabling, I will do my best to fulfill this obligation.
